CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

By giving this consent to the processing of personal data you are giving your consent to Masaryk University Reg. No.: 00216224, with its head office at Žerotínovo nám. 9, 611 77 Brno, contact address Komenského nám 2, 602 00 Brno (hereinafter the “administrator”), processing your personal data under the conditions given hereunder.
Extent of processing of your personal data
The administrator will process your personal data in the extent that you provided it in the context of the marketing activities of the administrator, namely by signing up for e-mail communication. The administrator will process the name, surname and e-mail address.
Purpose of processing your personal data
The administrator will process your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing (i.e. offering the products and services of the administrator, but not however those of a third party) including sending commercial communications in the sense of Act No. 480/2004 Coll., on Certain Information Society Services and analyses of you behaviour concerning these commercial communications for the purpose of sending personalised offers of services.
Legal basis of processing of personal data
The legal basis of this processing is your consent and the fact that your personal data are essential for the fulfilling of the individual purposes of direct marketing, which you have opted to subscribe to. Personal data are processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation – Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council (EU) 2016/679 dated 27/4/2016 - (hereinafter GDPR).
Period for which your personal data will be processed
The administrator will process your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, for a period of 3 years from the granting of granting consent to the administrator for the sending of an e-mail Newsletter or visiting an event organised by the administrator, provided you do not withdraw this consent.
Withdrawal of consent to the processing of personal data
At any time you can free of charge withdraw your voluntarily granted consent to the processing of personal data, by sending an e-mail to the address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Withdrawal of consent is also possible directly from any commercial message sent to you by e-mail. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of processing resulting from consent before its withdrawal. Withdrawal of consent also does not influence the processing of personal data which the administrator processes on a legal basis other than consent.

Your rights in regard to the protection of your personal data
You have the right, without being threatened with any kind of sanction or disadvantage, at any time to withdraw your consent, to correct or supplement your personal data, to require restrictions on the processing, to raise an objection or complaint against the processing of personal data, to request the transfer of data or to have access to your personal data, by sending notice to the electronic address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. You also have the right to be informed of any breach in the security of personal data or its deletion and you have further rights set down in the GDPR
The right to raise an objection
You have the right to raise an objection against the processing of your personal data, if the administrator processes it for the purposes of direct marketing. The objection must be submitted to the administrator. In the case that you raise an objection against processing for the purposes of direct marketing, the administrator will no longer process the personal data in that extent, unless they demonstrate justified reasons for processing which outweigh your interests or rights and freedoms or for the determining, exercising or defending of legal claims. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory office
At any time you may submit a complaint concerning the processing of your personal data or non-fulfilment of the duties of the administrator arising from the GDPR to the supervisory office. In the Czech Republic the supervisory office is the Office for Personal Data Protection, with its head office at Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, www.uoou.cz.
The duty to provide personal data. Consequences of not providing personal data
You provide your personal data entirely voluntarily. You have no duty to provide it. In the case that you do not provide your personal data, you are not threatened by any sanctions. Nonetheless if you do not provide the administrator with personal data, they will not be able to send you individual commercial communications for which you subscribe (for example without your e-mail address the administrator will not be able to send a newsletter or an invitation to a course). It is however entirely up to you whether you wish to receive these communications or not.
The CIC (Centre for International Cooperation) and the ISC (International Student Club) run an extensive orientation week prior to every semester. You have an opportunity to participate in the orientation week with colourful programme which will help you organize your administrative and study duties and further experience a little bit of Czech culture and Czech language and meet and have fun with both Czech and other international students at parties, workshops, etc.
The registration starts on 10. 07. 2017 and ends by 30. 7. 2017. Even if you can't make it for the whole time, you can participate on different activities, sometimes for a small fee.

The orientation week package is limited to 500 people, so do not hesitate for too long.. By paying the OW fee you will have free entrance to all activities mentioned below. Otherwise see where you will be allowed to attend.

It has been confirmed by the UK Government that EU students applying to study in the academic year 2018/19 will have their student loans, fees, and grants guaranteed for the entirety of their course, even if the course end date is after the point of the UK’s exit from the EU.
This applies to all EU students applying for an undergraduate or master’s course at a UK university in 2018 to 2019. EU nationals also remain eligible to apply for Research Council PhD studentships at UK institutions to help cover costs for the duration of their study.
EU students will, in the academic year 2018/2019, also be eligible for the same tuition fees as UK students for the duration of their course, even if it concludes after Brexit. Scottish university home fee status and loans for EU students are guaranteed for 2018/19 entry as well.

Every year, Centre for International Cooperation at Masaryk University organizes Masaryk University Staff Training Week (MUST Week) for colleagues from partner universities all around the world. In 2017 the ninth edition of MUST Week offered training and sharing experience to 80 employees working in five target groups – career centres, international relation offices, services for students with special needs, information technology area and libraries. Most participants coming from 5 continents arrived within Erasmus+ staff training programme.
